Roofing Project with the Knudsons and the Faith UMC Group

Local Roofing Project

Jean and Doug Knudson collaborated with the Faith UMC sponsor group to install a roofing project for a Corazón family in our Nuevo Milenio community! A group of ten volunteers from the 6/7 Faith UMC House Build met up with the Knudsons and Corazón community members after they installed a drywall and electrical project in Flores Magon 1-2 days before.

Thank you to our community members, the Knudsons, and Faith UMC for a wonderful build day!

  • prevention methods
  • fire classifications
  • How/when to use a fire extinguisher and
  • How to identify when a fire should not be fought and instead seek professional help

Ancestral Farming Practices of Mexico

Chinampas

Chinampas, floating plant beds in the Valley of Mexico, are rich both in nutrients and in ancestral farming history. The fertile islands are used to grow plants such as spinach, Swiss chard, radishes, parsley, cilantro, cauliflower, celery, mint, rutabaga, chives, rosemary, lettuce, and purslane. Today, the ancestral farming method is at risk due to climate change and a fast-growing city that faces social and environmental strain.
