Housewarming Gift

Welcome the family into their new home! It is not required, however, if you would like to bring a housewarming gift, you may consider some of the following:
- Solar operated lights or battery operated lights
- Blankets
- Towels
- Canned foods and rice
- Kitchenware
- School supplies for children (notebooks, backpacks, etc.)
- Toys for the children
- No money, please.
PLEASE NOTE: Mexican customs does NOT allow any fresh fruits, raw, nuts, coffee beans, potted plants with soil or flowers, poultry/milk/eggs or prepared foods containing these ingredients.
Sample Build Day Schedule
Note: Meeting and Arrival times in the U.S. and Mexico are subject to your group's meeting location and the time duration of check-ins conducted by agents at the border.
6:00 AM: Meet up!
6:30 AM: Depart to Mexico
7:30 AM: Arrive at the build site. Lead Builder safety talk, Meet the family, Split into teams
8:00 AM: Begin Building
12:00 PM: Lunch (provided by the family receiving the home)
1:00 PM: Resume building
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Build complete, clean up. Closing & key ceremony!
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Leave for border
U.S. Meeting Location
Corazón's U.S. meeting location is located at 360 E H Street Chula Vista, CA 91910 (Smart & Final Parking Lot). Your group may have a different meeting location or multiple U.S. meeting locations. Please reach out to your group leader or [email protected] for this information.
